Today we're going to make a beaded cuff bracelet which is super simple and really cute!
This is what you need:
You will need the usual sewing equipment, some tailors chalk, leather cord, a button, some beads and some felt!
Start by measuring out your felt for your bracelet base, it can be as thick or thin as you like! I went for 3cm wide as I want to be able to layer it with other bracelets. The length of my bracelet is 15cm, you can figure this out by wrapping the felt strip around your wrist and trimming the excess where the two ends meet, its okay if you trim slightly more off as we will make the fastening work with whatever length it is!
Cut your strip of felt and sew the button to one end of it.
Wrap the fabric around your wrist once more, and using the leather cord looped around the button, you can estimate where the leather cord should sit on the opposite end of the felt, as you can see above, the leather cord that extends past the end of the felt loops around the button comfortably.
Make a small incision in the felt, large enough to poke both ends of the cord through.
After threading the cord through, sew around to secure it.
Your bracelet should then fasten comfortably!
Now we can move onto the fun part! Using the tailors chalk, I drew a geometric patten on my felt to mark where I will be sewing my beads, the possibilities are endless for how you can decorate your bracelet, you could even try writing names or phrases, that would make a great gift!
I chose to alternate triangles between clear beads and multi coloured.
Ta-Dah! Although sewing all those tiny beads was seriously finger cramp inducing, it was well worth it!
I LOVE my bracelet! What colours and patterns are you going to try?
Thanks for reading! Yasmin x
