Adventures in Scrap Fabric (Part 3!)

Oh yes, it's back again, and I think this one might actually be my favourite so I can barely contain my excitement!

The little white table was kind of a panic buy, we hadn't yet furnished our spare bedroom and were expecting guests so we had to run out and buy a load of furniture, which resulted in, a couple of  days later, questions such as, 'why did we buy that again?' and 'I can't believe I exchanged money for that!'. So anyway, lets just say this little table isn't our favourite piece, but there was something I liked about the leg structure so it was the perfect candidate for a little up cycle!

So the scrap fabric I chose for this was from an old skirt, I really liked the colour and pattern but I didn't really like the style so much so cutting it up into strips wasn't too heart wrenching!  Apart from the fabric all I needed was some craft glue and a paint brush.

I started at the bottom and brushed a little glue onto the metal legs, I brushed it thinly as its white glue and and I didn't want it to seep through the fabric and affect the colour.

Take the end of a strip and stick it firmly to the leg.

Then all you need to do is wrap! This is probably the easiest DIY ever! I kept dotting little bits of glue along the legs to make sure the fabric was held firmly. To add a new strip all you have to do is brush some glue onto the end of the previous strip and start wrapping the strip, slightly overlapping the previous - its easier than it sounds!

TA-DAH! Yes I am extremely proud of this, I think it looks amazing and you can do it to anything! Up cycle metal bed frames, lamps, hatstands, wire coat hangers or even wall art! The possibilities are endless!
Thank you for reading! Yasmin x
